No Way Out Prediction Guidelines

This month we are going to do things slightly differently. First, reasonings are gone. I love reading the reasons you guys have for why you are picking who you are picking, but with going on nearly 70 predictors if everyone returns it’s taking up a lot of time. I’d like to condense a bit more this month and make it even easier.

Second, since tolkienite is a 2-time, 2-time champion we’re going to give the rest of you an advantage. Since he is still exempt from tie-breakers you know that if you guess the matches the same as him that you can not win. When his predictions are in anyone that guessed the same way he did has ONE chance to change ONE prediction so that they can decide to not have the same predictions he did. Still means he’ll win it if he’s correct on all of them, BUT if he’s not, everyone else has a better chance.

And this month the giveaway is…. A Chick’s And America T-shirt from Barber Shop Window ( @BshopWindow ) AND an autograph from Derrick Bateman! If tolkienite should win this I will also give away a Bork Laser shirt from Barber Shop Window to the second place winner.

To get me your predictions you may leave them in the comments below, dm me on twitter ( @SolaceWinter) or you may email them to me at SolaceWinter@yahoo.com

You have until midnight EST on Saturday to get me your predictions!

And now… for the matches and their tie-breakers!

  2. Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga
No build heading into this one, Brodus entrance is a good example of demonstrating the spectacle that WWE TV is and Brodus is a good example of that. I really don’t think that we’ll get much of a match but it is what it is .
    Winner: Brodus Clay

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
Originally the match we were going to see Alberto Del Rio vs Sheamus, but after Del Rio came down with a concussion after attack by Sheamus, they had to find Sheamus a new oponnent. Not much heat going into this match other then Ziggler has been wanting to be pushed for the longest times, the WWE Universe wanted him to be pushed, but it should be a great clash between this two young Superstars. I think Sheamus goes over here but I think this isn’t the last we’ve heard of everyone’s favorite hashtag HEEL.
    Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
I have a love hate relationship for this match, at first I hated the idea that adding Kane to the match. The reason is Bryan and Punk had a great match last month at Over the Limit and they already setup a rematch with the finish. They then added Kane to the match which means, we will have a match that is going to have awkward transitions moments when Kane has to get involved in the match.

Then I looked at this match like it was a 3 way between 3 guys instead of getting mad that its not another independent circuit classic, I’m going to enjoy this match a lot more, with that perspective. Adding Kane to the match is not the worst thing they did either, we now have the concept that AJ is going to cost one of the men the match, so its not up to who is better, it is up to AJ picks. CM Punk has been very good at overcoming the odds when the deck is stacked against him, so there is a very good chance he will walk away retaining the championship.
    Winner: CM Punk

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?
    CM Punk Pins Daniel Bryan

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes
Christian returned by surprise last month in a battle royal where he won and went on to face Cody Rhodes and became the new intercontinental Champion. He looked very strong and looked better then ever. Ever since he won the championship, he has been on a roll and has taken on all challengers. At No Way Out, Cody Rhodes gets his rematch and will be attempting at taking back his championship that he feels he feels he lays claim to. I think it should be a really good match and with the lack of matches on the card it should get a pretty decent amount of time. I think Christian retains here and Cody goes on to the Money in the Bank match next month
    Winner: Christian

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
The Divas have gotten some what of the cold shoulder as of late as there has been more focus on the Lauaranaitis angle. This week we saw the return of Beth Phoenix to network television. On Raw we saw her and Ricardo Rodriguez pick up the win over Divas Champion Layla and United States Champion Santino Marella. I think its only a matter of time before we see the return of Kharma so im going with Layla picking up the win, to set up a feud with Layla and Kharma.
    Winner: Layla

    John Cena vs. Big Show
It all started when Big Show was just having some fun and made fun of John Lauranaitis and Eve Torres reported back to Lauranaitis over the incident. It lead to Big Show crying in the ring, which followed by him getting fired by General Manager John Lauranaitis. Big Show and John Lauranaitis the weekend of Over the Limit, struck a deal with Big Show and not just a contract but a Iron Clad Contract if he helped Lauranatis in his match with John Cena. Big Show proceeded to help out Big Johnny and knocked out John Cena, which lead to Big Johnny pinning John Cena.

The Raw following we had Big Johnny book the match of The Big Show vs John Cena in a steel cage. The only match I really enjoy Big Show in is steel cage matches, at No Way Out it literally is No Way Out. Not going to lie Big Show and John Cena matches aren’t the prettiest things in the world but due to the steel cage, we will get something better then what we would normally get out of those two. There is some other stipulations in the match as well, if John Cena loses he is fired and there is a strong possibility that Mr. McMahon will appear and fire Big Johnny.
    Winner: John Cena

Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last? 60 Seconds

    Clay squash match.

    Winner: Brodus Clay

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

I don’t see Ziggler winning since he’s a replacement. Barrett will probably take it from Sheamus.

    Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

Hard one to predict. I think it’s gonna be either Bryan because AJ turns on Punk and Kane, or Punk because he’s on his long roll. I’m going with Punk for this one.

    Winner: CM Punk

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?

    CM Punk pins Daniel Bryan

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

I don’t see Rhodes winning it back at this point, don’t know why. Also, people seem to like Christian as the midcard champ.

    Winner: CM Punk
    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?
    Punk pins Bryan

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

I don’t see any reason why Christian would lose the title so soon, considering their non-existent feud.

  14. Shelly Montgomery (@RatedRPeep)

    Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga
Although Brodus Clay got beat down by Big Show, I think he’ll get the win over Otunga
    Winner: Brodus Clay

    Sheamus vs. Ziggler
With Ziggler getting added last minute to replace Del Rio, I doubt he’ll get the victory.
    Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
AJ sickens me, but I know she’ll come into play somehow during this match.
    Winner: CM Punk

    Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?
    CM Punk pins Kane

    Christian vs. Cody
I know there have been rumors of Christian being taken off TV for a while, but I don’t believe them at all.
    Winner: Christian

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
Still waiting for Kharma to come back!
    Winner: Beth Phoenix

    John Cena vs. Big Show
I really don’t care about this match.
    Winner: John Cena

Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback squash be?
    2:55

Tie-breaker 3: How many times will HHH say, “Brock Lesnar?”
    5 times

  15. Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga
As much as I call David Otunga the GREATEST WRESTLER/LAWYER IN THE UNIVERSE, Brodus still hasn’t eaten defeat since becoming the Funkasaurus. This is a no-brainer:

Winner: Brodus Clay (and the dancing will probably last longer than the match)

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

I would love to see Dolph Ziggler get that belt, but the rumor mill is strong that Sheamus won’t be at risk of losing the World Heavyweight Title until Wade Barrett returns. While Dolph Ziggler could win and just lose the belt back on Smackdown or a Pay-Per-View, I think Dolph’s going to strike out – and put the blame where it belongs, on his own personal albatross – Vickie Guerrero and her mismanagement. I’d even bank on Vickie being the sole reason Dolph doesn’t win this match.

    Winner and still WHC: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

This should be a great one, but I think CM Punk is also set to retain, with rumors buzzing Cody Rhodes might be the next in line for the WWE title shot. I think Punk’s set to retain even though he has had such a lengthy run and WWE loves to pull a fast one at the last possible second with script re-writes – still with Randy Orton out, WWE is going to protect their star power and merchandise and CM Punk represents both of these things.

Winner and still WWE Champion: CM Punk

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?

Punk will go over Bryan to decisively have defeated Mr. Yes.

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Although Christian appeared at TNA Slammiversary it’s important for WWE to not make it look like they intend to punish him for something they agreed to in the first place. I don’t honestly think the titles will change hands here, either, especially if Rhodes gets promoted to a feud with Punk. With the majority of the new debuts as heels, they really need to keep as many face champions as possible and I think that Christian is going to retain.

Winner and still IC Champion: Christian

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix

This actually is a tough one. Beth Phoenix and Layla have both been relegated to after-thoughts by creative mostly because the powers that be are way too busy worrying about keeping the marketable (BLEGH!) Kelly Kelly. Layla should retain because they need a new face of the division but this relies heavily on what AJ Lee does in the WWE title match – AJ is neither a face nor a heel and her status after No Way Out will likely be reflective of who wins this match. They’re not going to heel-vs-heel with Beth vs. AJ but AJ hasn’t fully turned either and is insanely over with the WWE fans right now. I don’t think WWE has any idea how negotiations to keep K2 are going to turn out, or even how to handle AJ’s newfound popularity so they’ll probably decide the best idea is to “do nothing” thus Layla retains.

Winner and still Divas Champion: Layla El

    John Cena vs. Big Show

Once again we have the John Laurinaitis will be fired stipulation in play here. Big Johnny has been removed in real life from his VP of Talent Relations role so he’s pretty much now ONLY a storyline character. I don’t think we’ll be rid of John Laurinaitis until at least Summerslam and with all the other babyfaces retaining titles on this card, I think this is where the heel is going to get the win. Expect Big Show to somehow pull one out potentially with interference from Big Johnny physically entering the cage to try to save his own backside.

    Winner: The Big Show

Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last?

I give it 2 and a half minutes.

Tie-breaker 3: How many times does Triple H say, “Brock Lesnar”

    Winner : Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

    Winner : CM Punk

Punk pins Kane so D-Bry still looks strong in the feud.

Winner : Us the fans for two WRESTLERS who can actually work a divas match…. Layla wins.

    Winner: Big Show

-tiebreaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last? 3:15

-tiebreaker 3: How many times does Triple H say, “Brock Lesnar” 8.

  20. Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga

Brodus Clay, unless the Big Show knocks him out again WITH DA GREATEST OF EASE so he can look more dominating and less like the guy who lost a monster truck battle to the guy who killed his father andre the giant

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

Sheamus in probably the match of the night. Will not be surprised to see Swagger cost him the match and Dolph to go nutso. Plus with MITB right around the corner I just can’t see Ziggler taking the title out of the blue yet, especially after he lost clean on Smackdown to Sheamus a few weeks back.

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

Punk in a good, not great match. A little bit of me hopes a fourth party gets involved at the end of this match, perhaps somebody a little crazy, but realistically speaking won’t happen yet. Would love to see Dean Ambrose get thrown in the crazy chick hot mess.

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?

    Punk pins Kane

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Christian, though I really don’t understand why this match is even happening. The entire feud is just kind of thrown together, which is really unfortunate. With people souring on ADR it’s probably time Cody gets elevated up the card a little. I will not be shocked to see him win, specifically with MITB coming down the line. Never know though, these two would make for a solid midcard match at Summerslam.

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix

This match is probably the biggest tossup of the night to me. We knew it was coming, but it just kind of popped up out of nowhere and has no build or anything to it. I’m going to guess Beth wins just because watching Layla the past few weeks has me worried about her knee, and it is obvious she is worried too. I just hope they give them some time to work, and that Layla’s knee isn’t bugging her because this match could legit shock some people.

    John Cena vs. Big Show

This match is kind of a tossup as well, just because of the stipulation added at this past weeks Smackdown tapings, and the fact a certain reptilian wrestler decided it would be a good idea to consume some magic supplements leaving a clear lack of faces to work with. On the other hand the plan is to build to Punk vs Show, so how can you do that if Show loses and Big Johnny gets canned as well. So here is what I’m thinking, Big Show dominates but loses. Vince fires Big Johnny as EVP (since we want to look like we create jobs and not fire people THANKS LINDA!) but retains him as the GM. I just can’t see Cena getting “fired” again for the second year in a row, specifically with the Raw anniversary coming up and Summerslam around the corner when Randy Orton isn’t there. Needs star power after all. Unless of course it turns out that Cena was the mystery third man to fail the drug test a few weeks back.

Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last? 1:48
Tie-breaker 3: How many times does Triple H say, “Brock Lesnar” Let’s see, 15 minute promo, subtract the time spent about 3 hour raw, subtract the time spent talking about being the Game-a and the Best-a in the Ring-a with a Hammer-a, subtract a minute for Paul Heyman interupton, carry the 2 I think the answer is 7. Assuming he doesn’t slip from the piss running down his leg, and the shit in his pants. He is scared pissless after all.

  21. Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga

Brodus Clay – No brainer really. Really starting to hope

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

Sheamus – Dolph might steal the show here. No way Sheamus drops the title on a whim, but Ziggler is ready to hold a major belt.

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan (no heels holding any title belts? C’mon WWE) – Punk is sort of stagnating as champion, and Bryan is the perfect candidate to take the belt off him. This might be an opportunity to shift Punk to SD where he can carry the show.

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?

Bryan pins Punk, AJ GOES HEEL BAH GAWD

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Christian – this is where Rhodes can separate himself from the IC belt and maybe prepare himself for a MITB win. Should be a great match.

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix

Layla – I hope they put on a great show.

    John Cena vs. Big Show

John Cena – logic dictates the Big Show winning here, then going on to a title match at SS. But WWE inexplicably books things sometimes, like Cena over Brock and Rock over Cena. I’ll go Cena.

•Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last?

1 minute 24 seconds – is this guy getting fast tracked to the main event picture?

  27. Kerry Kamenski

I expect this to be a great match, the two of these are great workers. I’ve got a good feeling Sheamus will come out on top though.

    Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

I’m interested to see where this will go, actually, the whole AJ thing has been kind of baffling me. I’m sure that as an integer within the match, she’ll make it so it goes in Punk’s favour.

    Winner: CM Punk

    Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who?

    CM Punk pins Daniel Bryan

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Christian and Rhodes… match of the night in my opinion. One of the best in the world vs one of the best up and comers in WWE today. I hope this match gets the time it deserves. I see Christian winning this hopefully outside of the 15 minute margin.

    Winner: Christian

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix

The last match was pretty damn good, so hopefully this one delivers, too. I’m expecting to see a Layla victory, though. I don’t think she’s ready to drop the title just yet.

I don’t expect the Laurinaitis administration/”People Power” to end just yet, so I expect most of the winners to be those associated with Laurinaitis.

  35. Melodelish4286

    Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga
He’s won every other match, so I’m sure this will be yet another squash…boring! Winner: Brodus Clay

    Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
This is a tough one, but I think the Irish one is pulling through…Ziggler needs to leave Vicki behind before he can have a truly successful singles run. Winner: Sheamus

CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan
Another tough one, but I think Punk is keeping the title until at least Summerslam…not to mention he’s appearing on Jimmy Fallon Monday night and losers don’t go on late night! I’m just curious what nut bag AJ will be up to… Winner: CM Punk

    – Tie-breaker 1: Who pins who? Punk pins Bryan to continue their feud.

    Christian vs. Cody Rhodes
I love Cody Rhodes, but they’re really giving Christian a big push back to the top, so I look for him to retain. Winner: Christian

    Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
I would rather have Phoenix on vacation then Kelly Kelly because she gets on my last nerve. She had the title long enough, so I look for Layla to retain and hopefully end this feud. There needs to be more women wrestlers added to the division to make it interesting! Winner: Layla

    John Cena vs. Big Show
I really want people power to end and with practically everyone out on either suspension or injury, Cena isn’t going away anytime soon even though he deserves a break. Also this match has been played out 20 other times! Winner: John Cena

    • Tie-breaker 2: How long will the Ryback Squash last? I give it 3 minutes

    • Tie-breaker 3: How many times does Triple H say, “Brock Lesnar” 6 times
